Computer Science undergraduate at the American University of Cyprus, with a passion for technology, hardware, and a long-term goal of breaking into cybersecurity.
Introduction
I am a third-year Computer Science undergraduate at the American University of Cyprus. Technology has been a core part of my life for as long as I can remember โ from tinkering with hardware to setting up home servers.
I grew up in the UK, where I completed secondary school with both a GCSE and an IGCSE in Computer Science, studied IT at Henley College, and attended FunTech, a private coding tutoring service. I moved to Cyprus for higher education and a fresh chapter.
My long-term ambition is to work in cybersecurity. In the meantime, I am actively seeking IT Support or Helpdesk roles where I can contribute, grow, and get hands-on experience in a professional environment.
I am a determined, hard worker โ no task is too big or too small. I take pride in solving problems and never back down from a challenge.
Background
Currently in third year. Focused on fundamentals of computing, networking, and software development, with a particular interest in security topics.
Completed a vocational IT qualification covering practical computing skills, hardware fundamentals, and digital literacy.
Achieved both a GCSE and IGCSE in Computer Science from secondary school in the UK, demonstrating strong academic grounding in the subject from an early age.
Attended FunTech, a specialist technology tutoring service, gaining early exposure to programming concepts and computational thinking.
Capabilities
Experienced in building and troubleshooting desktop PCs โ component selection, assembly, BIOS configuration, and diagnosing hardware faults.
Self-hosted a Jellyfin media server including setup, network configuration, remote access, storage management, and ongoing maintenance.
Strong analytical mindset โ able to break down technical issues methodically and identify root causes efficiently under pressure.
Clear communicator across technical and non-technical audiences. Comfortable supporting end users and documenting solutions concisely.
Actively building knowledge in cybersecurity concepts, including network security fundamentals and security-conscious server configuration.
Proactive learner โ built technical skills through independent projects, formal study, and hands-on experimentation beyond the classroom.
Work
Planned, built, and self-hosted a personal media server running Jellyfin. Configured local and remote access, managed storage, handled user accounts, and maintained uptime โ a real-world exercise in server administration and networking.
Built multiple desktop computers from scratch โ sourcing components, assembling hardware, configuring BIOS settings, installing operating systems, and troubleshooting post-build issues. Developed strong hands-on hardware knowledge through each build.
Ongoing university projects covering programming, algorithms, data structures, and computing theory at the American University of Cyprus. Practical experience applying concepts to real problems.
